A General Synopsis on Contests! (Also, Rules!)
**These rules are not set in stone! Some contests will use their own rules, to a varying degree.**
The contests here are meant to be a fun and rewarding competition between users. :3 There will be quite a variety of contests, each with their particular contained within their post, though they will generally follow the same basic structure.
1. Participating. Each contest will have a 'sign-up queue' which I will wait to be filled before the contest begins. PM RedMage89 to join the queue. I will include people in the order they PM him...sorry if you don't make it in the queue! (There's always the next contest. :3 )
2. Contest Running Times. Basically, the contest will start once the contestant queues are filled. It will run for a set amount of time that is different for each contest. (I may end some types of contests early, like art or story contests, if all contestants are already done with what they had to create for the contest.) Upon the end of the running time of the contests, a public poll will be posted for voting to determine the winner, along with links to all the entries so people know what they're voting on. These polls will run for a set time.
3. Drop-Outs. If a contestant drops out of a contest, the contest will continue as normal without them.
4. Prizes. This will almost always be a Level or two. (See this post for more on that.) Occasionally, other rewards will be available, oftentimes if someone volunteers a reward for the contest.
-------
CONTEST RULES
1. Do not plagiarize other people's works for your own. It's just lame, and defeats the purpose of working to win a contest.
2. Do not try to bribe or coerce the judges in their voting for you. The judges WILL notify me of this.
3. Don't think your work sucks! Just try your best! :3 Skill in what you're doing is important, but doing your best shows too!
4. Don't get mad if you lose. It's really lame to see a sore loser...and hey, you'll get another chance in the next contest. ^^
5. Don't gloat if you win. A sore winner is even worse...
-------
Once again, what we're doing here is having some friendly competition. :3 Let's keep it friendly, and have a good time at these contests!

Aw, no gloating? Not even satirical self ribbing in the form of mock gloating?

Hehe, nothing like a good gloat ^-^

Keep holding on when my brain's tickin' like a bomb. Guess the black thoughts have come again to get me. Sweet bitter words, unlike nothing I have heard.
Sing along mocking bird, you don't affect me.

I'd be happy to be a judge anytime I'm needed! It'd be no problem!
Also, it's not like I'm an artist or writer myself, anyway.

*Looks a little disheartened.* So you thought I was useless before?

Re: A General Synopsis on Contests! (Also, Rules!)
Are we allowed to make contests for stuff not related to the site? For example, I want to create a contest where the winner gets to have a character in one of the chapters of The Hungry Charizard. Am I allowed to do that?

Oh, you missed the point, hun. :3 We admin are the ones making the contests. You can offer input if you like, though!
That's a cute contest, but I don't think we can do it here. I'm fine with you making a 'mini-contest' of sorts in the Stories section, though. It's all up to you to run it, however! =3

Perhaps you could make a forum specifically dealing with art and story contests.
