Mirages and Bitmaps: Acension (PRIVATE for Sparktail and Rougia)

The sun was shining brightly at Valor Lakefront, gracing the forest around the lake with a pleasant warmth. Of those resting in the area, we focus on several individuals in particular...

"Ack! Hey, no splashin'!" The human trainer said, chuckling and covering her face from the spray. Her name was Cici Munroe, aspiring Pokemon trainer and researcher. Originally from the region of Kanto, she'd made her way north to the Sinnoh region, hoping to possibly update her Pokedex and see what mysteries the land held for her to discover. After a 4 day trip from Kanto, The girl had made her way to Lake Valor with her trusted Pokemon companions.

D, the Absol, splashed about playfully, dousing his adoptive 'mother' Cici with water, laughing all the while. =Come on, you can't catch me, mom!= he said, the large Pokemon dousing her again. Her other Pokemon, a Porygon (named Nicole) which Cici had long ago configured to translate language between Pokemon and human speech sat on the lake shore, hovering quietly. Also curled up on shore was a very large Dragonair, quietly napping, though one eye opened to peer disdainfully at the display, before snorting and closing her eye again. And last, but certainly not least, a Mew, floating on the beach as well, thouogh much more lively than the Porygon. She dipped and dived back and forth, watching the antics in the water and smiled, giggling <Such fun! I wish I could join in,> She projected, watching the two in the water.

"Ah know, sugar, but ah dunno exactly how yer body would hold up in water. Best not t' chance it for now," Cici said, stretching. The two piece bathing suit fit her rather well, though sadly, there was no one around to show off to. "Foo. Shoulda stopped in here when it was busier," She grumbled, before heading back to the lake shore to relax.

Not far away, a little girl was sitting against a tree, seeming to relax with her eyes closed. Nothing seemed unusual about the girl; she could easily have been mistaken for a beginning trainer. She wore like pink clothes and a pokeball belt with only one pokeball on it. Her pink clothes might have seen weird, but that was nothing compared to her pink hair. It wasn't a natural hair color, but if anyone was to ask, she would say that it was fake. As for her pokemon, he wasn't with her at moment... but that was the whole point of it.

Her pokemon, a young male pichu, was currently heading near the lake, looking as innocent as a pichu could be. He would look like he was playing around, his trainer not far away. That would serve as a good excuse for the trainer to introduce herself to Cici. Cici would have never seen the pichu, but the Dragonair would have. His trainer had made sure that she had at least one ally among Cici's pokemon before meeting the girl herself, even if the Dragonair wasn't exactly the most cooperative of all pokemon. There was no such thing as being too prepared. What would ensue was of utmost importance and failure simply couldn't happen.

Dragonair opened her eye again, this time catching a scent of something on the wind. She lifted her head, and uncoiled, slithering off. "Hoi, where you goin'?" Cici asked, watching as the dragon type moved away from her. =Out. I'll return shortly.= She said in her usual, short way. She had no taste for humans.. other than the literal sense, but eating humans wasn't allowed. She didn't mind Cici, but she did mind the constant nagging questions the girl always seemed to have. But those thoughts could wait. She slithered off around the trees and out of sight, spotting what she'd scented.

'Ah, there you are,' she thought, spying the Pichu padding along the lake shore. It didn't seem all that worried; in fact it looked as though it were.. heading for her camp? The Dragonair took another good whiff and caught a second scent; the Mew she'd encountered, Miya. 'Well.. I guess that rules out a snack for lunch,' she thought, grumbling, and slithering out from the treeline. ~Hey.~ She said, catching the Pichu's attention as she loomed over the small electric mouse.

The pichu giggled when he saw the dragonair, indeed not scared at all. He had seen that dragonair before and, if she was to attack it, his auntie would help him out of his predicament... and it had happened before. All he cared about was the task he had been given, a task that was more like a game to him. "Hi, big funny dragon! I'm on a mission-thingy and I have to find the human my auntie want to talk to. Do you want to help me?" he asked, the most innocently in the world. Had he been more knowledgeable, he would have known that the dragonair could hardly bring him back to the camp safely without rising suspicions, since it was expected that the pichu should become prey. That didn't stop him from asking, since it was all a game to the pichu.

The Dragonair snorted. ~The human you're looking for is my 'trainer', I'm guessing,~ she replied haughtily. ~Come. I can take you to her. I promised her I wouldn't eat another human's Pokemon. She'll buy that excuse for me not eating you on sight.~ She said, sighing and slithering back toward the camp site, waiting for the Pichu to follow. She kept an eye out though; after this little side trip, she'd definitely be back for something for her grumbling tummy.

The pichu smiled and followed behind the large dragon pokemon. He ran, almost going faster than the one he was supposed to follow. After all, he was a pichu and pichu had their strength in their incredible speed; it had saved his life many times in the past, when he had had to deal with real predator, back at the chu colony. It wasn't so much that the world out there was less dangerous, but again, with his "trainer" around, he had nothing to fear. "I'm going to be there first, big funny dragon!" he shouted happily, the pokemon very young and innocent.

With the camp coming into view, Dragonair sighed, speaking loudly enough so that the transletor could catch her voice. =Human, I have a visitor here for you.= The Dragonair slithered up behind the Pichu that had made it to where Cici and the other lay. "Mm? A Pichu? Now who're you, not t' get gobbled up so quick?" Cici asked, sitting up from the towel she'd been laying on and peering over at the little electric mouse. D stirred, lifting his head, but remaining quiet, while Porygon snoozed in stand by mode, the translator still working regardless. Mew had retreated to her Pokeball earlier, and was recharging herself.

Cici looked down at the Pichu curiously as Dragonair answered. =He has a trainer nearby, I believe. And I DO follow the rules, foolish as they may be,= she finished, coiling back up again.

"'scuse me, miss snippy. Now, lil' fella.. who are you, an' whatcha doin' out without yer trainer, hmm?" She asked, kneeling in front of the little mouse and adjusting her glasses.

Feeling looked over by the trainer, the pichu looked back at her and nodded a little. "I was playing, then huh... I got lost." he said, repeating those words Miya had told him to say. Then, he turned around and pointed from where he came from. "My trainer is somewhere there... I think... I'm not sure... I miss my trainer. We haven't been together for long, but she feels like family already." added, nodding again. That last ironically wasn't a lie at all, as strange at it might sound. Miya and the pichu were related by blood, in the most twisted of way. It was likely that the human would never learn the truth, but that was for the best. Some things were meant to stay hidden, for the safety of all parties involved.

Cici blinked and reached over, picking the small Pichu up and cradling him against her body. "Aww, poor thing... Well, dont you worry, sugar, we'll find yer trainer, okay?" She said, tickling beneath the chu's chin and smiling. Dragonair gave a quiet snort and rolled her eyes. 'Kid's a smooth worker.' she thought, watching as Cici put the Pichu back down and started getting her normal clothing back on. A few minutes later, Cici had her gear packed and Pokemon all recalled, including Dragonair (under the strict promise that the dragon type would be allowed to hunt later). Cici kept Porygon out though, letting the computer Pokemon act as translator between her and the Pichu.

"So where is yer trainer, sugar?" She asked, once they were off and walking back the way Pichu and Dragonair had come from. "She around over here or..?"

Fifty feet away, Miya received the mental signal that her pichu had found her target. She little girl, aged around 10, went back on her feet and started to walk toward Cici's location, shouting "Volte! Volte! Where are you little guy? Volte!", so the trainer heading toward her wouldn't miss her and would likely think that she was a good trainer, since she was looking for her pokemon.

Back with Cici, the pichu smiled at the petting and the attention he was receiving. Cici didn't quite did it the same as Miya could, but it was close enough. He was about to tell the girl where he last saw his when he heard her shout his name. Excitely, the little kid wiggled in Cici's grip, pointing forward. "Oh! She's there! She's there!"

Cici hmmed? looking up from the Pichu to the sound of the voice calling out. "Hoi! Over here!" She said, waving an arm as a pink haired girl came into view. Cici smiled and headed toward the girl with her Porygon, the Pichu leading the way. "This lil' guy yours?" She asked as they walked up, the girl wiping her forehead.

The little girl would be much different from Cici. Whereas Cici was an older teen, Miya looked was a 10 years girl and was at least one feet shorter than Cici. She was young, very young. So young in fact that it she could easily have been mistaken for being 7 or 8 years old. The girl had official papers saying she was allowed to train pokemon, but yet... she just felt uncannily younger. Her voice would sound young too. "Volte! There you are! I was sooo worried! Don't you leave like that again, you little cutie." she shouted playfully, running toward the older girl with a giggle. "Oh... thanks for finding my pokemon, miss... errr... "

"Cici," She said, offering a hand. "Name's Cici." Porygon hovered up next to her, it's eyes blinking slowly. "So what's a cutie like you doin' out here, sugar?" She asked, kneeling down on one knee. "Ah thought everyone would be up at the resort, since there's everything y' could need up there." Indeed, the resort for Lake Valor accomadated everything anyone could need. a resturant, food, shops, even a pool and gaming area. and of course, a training arena for traveling trainers. All Cici had really craved is some peace, quiet, and a place she could let Dragonair out safely. But that was a different topic....

The little girl smiled innocently and picked up Volte in her arms, craddling him motherly. "I'm Miya Tortoas and I'm a beginer trainer!" she said excitingly, reaching for her pocket and taking out her trainer liscence to show it proudly. "I'm training with Volte, my Pichu! He is /really/ strong! I'm going to show you! Volte, Thunder... Err... Something!" she called out uncertainly.

Volte obeyed and targetted a small rock laying around. A few weak sparks came out first... Then Miya worked her magic. Using her psychic powers, she twisted the path of tons of electrons around the small pichu, sending an intense stream of electricity at the rocj, blowing it up in a blinding light. "Yay!" Miya shouted happily, Volte following in her celebration.

Cici whistled and raised her eyebrows. "Wow. Not bad fer a beginner, sugar. An' that's Thunderbolt, ah believe," She said, chuckling. "Though how'd you get a Pichu t' learn that so quickly? This lil guy look way too young t' handle somethin' so powerful," She said, rubbing her chin. Granted, she was no expert; it probably COULD be done. Maybe he'd been born and bred with the attack? The girl shrugged. Porygon merely watched quietly, recording the scene while blinking, still keeping the translator going quietly.

The little girl shrugged and giggled innocently. "I dunno... I just told him to do it and he did. Volte is the best pokemon ever! Maybe he's going to be the strongest Raichu in the world, one day. Or maybe the strongest pokemon in the world!" she said, as innocent as the child she was could be. She laughed some more, than smiled. "Are ya a trainer, too? Maybe we could travel together! My super-strong pichu could protect ya and ya could teach me how to catch other pokemon... I dunno really how..."

"Yea ah'm a trainer too, sugar." She said, chuckling. "An' you may just be right. That is a right powerful lil' fella ya got there. But He'll need some top notch trainin' if he's gonna be the best. Can't get by on power alone," She said, nodding. "And ah wasn't really lookin' t' pair up wit' anyone, but. well, since mah friends are off in other regions doin' their own thing, ah guess some company wouldn't hurt," She said, nodding. "So... Partners?" She asked, offering the girl a hand,

The girl returned the handshake, shaking the older and taller girl's hand energically. Behind that smile on her youthful face, was hiding a calculating mind analyzing the situation carefully. The girl's mind could reach the deepest corners of those around without any trouble, but she hadn't wanted to use that kind of cheap tactic to get to her ends. More importantly, her elders had strictly forbidden her from making any display of her psychic abilities. This assignment had the double purpose of making her prove her worth as a protector of the pokemon world. It was her first important task and she would respect any imposed constraint, if it lead her to mental growth.

Despite those restrictions, she couldn't really cloak her mind from the surface thoughts of the older girl and the pichu. Volte was confused about his sudden surge of power and the girl was clearly impressed by the pichu's strength. Unfortunately for her, Cici didn't seem to be dumb. While she bought her little pichu trick, as it would have been expected of anyone, she didn't see this power as being the most important thing to be a good trainer. It was a proof of wisdom, a sign that she would have to be very careful about Cici to succeed. Because, no matter how powerful she was, nothing could stop human wits from seeing through her guise. If that was to happen, she didn't know what she would do.

"Partners! Do you have a home? Daddy gave me his shiny card with so much money on it that I can sleep in any room I want and rent anything I want to get around places." she told her, showing her a platinum debit card. The card indeed gave her access to millions of dollars, but she wasn't about to use it to its fullest. Not when it really belonged to her father and that she had "borrowed". It was just another part of her disguise. She was young, innocent, rich, neatly dressed. A spoiled kid in every way. If Cici was like any 16 year old girl, she would probably try to take advantage of her to any degree, which meant she would have to be extra careful and perhaps have to use coercion to get to that A.I. mew, depending on how dishonest she was. If, by any chance, she was genuinely good, then she might have to rethink her whole plan. After all, the pure of heart were allowed to know more about the truth than other people.

Cici's jaw dropped as she stared at the little girls card. "Sweetie, ah woudn't go flashin' that around," She said, giving a nervous chuckle. "Somethin' like that could make you a very big target." She coughed and shook her head. "No, if yer with me, we split things 50/50, alright?" She said, stretching her arms over her head. "Ah don't expect you t' pay for everything, so ah'd recommend only gettin' whatcha need. 'sides, if yer comin' with me, we'll be walkin' a lot, so yer gonna have t' travel light."

Cici didn't know what to make of this kid. A novice trainer with such a seemingly powerful Pichu, and a Platinum charge card? Something here didn't add up. "Well, for now, ah'm campin' out by the lake. Yer welcome t' camp wit' me if y' like," She said, motioning back to her campsite. "Or... have you ever camped outside before?" She asked, pausing and looking back at her new young partner. "If not, ah can show ya how. Been doin' it for a few months."

"Camping outside? That's sounds eww and hard." she whined in a distinctive spoiled kid manner. In truth, she didn't mind sleeping outside. In her line of work she slept to the stars more often than not. There was so many things she would have wanted to tell Cici about her outdoor experiences, but she would have to keep to her role for now.

Following her comment on camping, she picked up Volte in her arms and started to pet him again. She was doing it with a lot of care and as if she had done it a lot in the past. She indeed had, althought that wouldn't be expected from such a "spoiled" little girl. It was a flaw in her act, but she couldn't bring herself to do it any differently. Lying, she could do, but not treating a pokemon with the best of care? Never!

As she was petting her pichu, the little girl hid her debit card back in her pocket as ordeed and smiled at Cici, thinking about the other topic she mentioned. "Oh, but I would love seeing your camp! I love meeting new pokemon."

"Sure, when we get back t' mah campin' spot, ah'll let 'em out," She said, before adding,"An' ah'm sorry, but if yer travelin' with me, we rough it unless we got no choice. Ah don't waste money, kiddo." She said, giving the girl an apologetic smile. "Besides, makes spendin' money when we get to a city all th' more fun if we get a chance." She winked.

Soon, they arrived back at Cici's chosen campsite, her back pack still laying where she'd left it. "Ah had planned on goin' swimmin', so if you got a swimsuit, yer more 'n welcome. ah'll let mah Pokemon back out an' we can all relax an' talk," She said, figuring she'd give the little girl a surprise, letting Porygon's translator understand the Pokemon's speech. If only Cici knew that her new traveling companion could already understand them.

The first out of their ball was D, the large, Absol shaking himself off and sputtering. =That always feels weird,= he said, before turning to look at his 'mother' and her new friend. Next came Dragonair, the impressively large Dragon type giving a snort before coiling back up to snooze before her late afternoon hunt. And of course, Porygon was already outside her ball hovering along near her trainer. Of Cici's 4 Pokeballs, only 3 were opened though; the fourth remained closed. "Well, here's all mah friends, Miya. Whatcha think?"

The girl politely followed Cici to her camp, spending the short time looking herself for anything that would seem interesting to someone her age. She already knew what was around theses parts, since there was no hiding from a psychic, especially one as powerful as she was. Of course, walking to the girl's side calmly without showing any emotion wouldn't have worked in that situation. She had to fake surprise about pretty much everything, but it wasn't so hard. Her body was already made to express those naturally, so it was all a matter of not controlling herself.

The camp was nice and she shown that with a smile, althought she was far more interested in the pokemon Cici had to display, for various reasons. The obvious one was that it was expected of her, but she also liked pokemon a lot and and of these pokemon was her target. It made the meeting much more important. Unfortunately, Cici didn't let out all her pokemon. Nonetheless, she pulled out a small device from her bag and placed it on her ear before greeting the pokemon. If Cici was versed in the world of technology, she would know that it was a pokemon speech translator, an innovative... and very pricey device. Each one could be sold over 5000$, and custom ones were even pricier. Miya's one was one of such. Plated gold, the device had her initials, M. T., carved on it. It was a very old model, but it held a sentimental value to the girl. After all, it was one of the last few gifts her father had given before she was forced to cut all link with him, save for the occasional thieveries at his home or company HQ's when she needed technology or money.

The girl looked at each pokemon, smiling and replying to their pokemon language introduction. "Hiya, D, Clara and Nicole. I'm Miya and this is Volte. It's nice to meet you all!" she said cheerfully, before looking back at the older girl. "They all look nice and... unique."

Cici paused. She hadn't told Miya their names, other than D. She frowned but said nothing. The older trainer began pulling her sunning thigns back out, blanket, suntan lotion and swimsuit. "Wassat behind yer ear?" She asked idly, trying to make conversation. Being from Kanto,a less technological region, she hadn't been aware of a translator being available; she'd assumed the idea and design were hers alone, the usage of Porygon as the translator being a rather genius on her part.

The girl blinked too, also confused by the way the other girl was acting. Someone from Janto who didn't know what a translator was? They seemed pretty common, last time she checked. Then again, she had only lived around the high class people, so maybe the common oriole with the money to buy one didn't know much about it. It revealed a weakness in her knowledge of the world, a weakness she would eventually correct. For the moment though, there were more urgent matters on the table.

Picking up her translater, she smiled and shown it to Cici. "That's a translator, of course! It makes me understand pokemon. Its a gift from my daddy. You like?" she asked her. While she talked, Volte jumped off her arm and spoke to D, since he had already talked to Clara before. The dragonair was such a grumpy pokemon anyway. "Hiya! You wanna play?"

"Wait. They SELL those?" she asked, head tilting. "But... those things don't exist in Kanto! Heck, they didn't even have those in Johto or Hoenn!" She said, looking crestfallen. "Well, foo. So much fer a unique marketin' idea," She said, crossing her arms. "Ah built mah own translator, using the software from mah PokeNav an' Porygon's unique computer like systems. She essentially takes all the languaue in the area, processes it and reproduces the sounds in intelligible languages for all parties." She said, frowning. "But if they got personal translators now..." The girl frowned and turned back to her things, looking rather gloomy. Some genius inventor she was.

D blinked and head tilted at the little Pichu. "I guess," he said, nosing at the smaller pokemon gently, before giving it a lick. Dragonair opened an eye, gazing from Volte to
Miya snorting again and closing it again.

The girl tilted her head down for a moment, feeling bad that she had broken that girls dream. Wanting to fix that they would all be happy again, the girl tried to smile a little and took a soft and comforting voicel a bit out character. " Hey, don't be sad. Recognition isn't all that mattes to obtain happiness. You did something great on your own and you gained understanding from it. That's what is really important."

The pichu nuzzled the absol back, then glanced at the dragon pokemon. "Wanna play too, big dragon? Ya don't have to be scared of hurting me. Auntie Miya is always gonna help me, if something goes wrong."

Cici shrugged. "Spent a lotta time on that project though." She said dejectedly. "But at least ah still have..." She trailed off, smiling again. "Anyway... Get comfy an' relax. This is where we're campin'. Ah'll set up the tent a bit later. You can sleep with me in mine, though ah only have one sleepin' bag." She said, stepping behind a few bushes to change back into her outfit. "We'll pick ya up one in town later. Meanwhile, best t' enjoy the day an' relax. Then ah wanna have a lil' duel with yer Pichu, an' test it's limits a bit, if that's okay."

Absol looked over at the Dragonair and shook his head. "You don't want to ask her right now. She's doing her 'pre-hunt' nap." He said. "She's preparing for her afternoon feeding. So don't disturb her." D nudged Volte away from the dragonair, who gave another huff of irritation before coiling up, head gone from view. "We'll play over by the lake. you know how to swim?" he asked the little Pichu, standing by the lake side.

The pichu followed the Absol and looked at the water surface when he talked about swimmingl looking kind of nervous. Most rodent pokemon didn't know how to swim and certainly not when so young. Miya could make him "swim", but he didn't want to bother her with that when she was busy with her grown up stuff. He looked back at. D and shook his head. "I dunno how to swim..." he admitted.

Meanwhile, Miya was struggling to keep her act up. It wasn't easy when she was not treating her like a child. Maybe looking like a child wasn't the best of idea after all, but it was too late to back now. She Judy had to try her best and fall into the trap of acting mature. She thought for a moment, wondering what a spoiled rich kid would actually say. A smirk crept up her face when she found what to say. "Heh. Volte is gonna win, for sure! Also, I don't wanna sleep with ya! If we go back in the resort, I'm just gonna rent a room. No sleeping bag for me. Or I'm just gonna sleep outside the tent. With my pichu at my side, I can do everything!"

D smiled and barked out a laugh. "It's fine. I'll keep you safe. Just hop onto my back," he said, kneeling down for the Pichu to climb on. "Besides, on a warm day like today, it'll be nice to cool off. Just.. don't shock me," He said, giving the Pichu a nervous grin.

Cici shook her head. "Suit yerself, sugar," She said,"But the resort's expensive. They'll heal yer Pokemon for free at the little center there, but 's a waste of cash sleepin' there." She strutted out in her bikini, grinning. "No sense in it. Best bet would buy yerself a sleepin' bag." She said, shaking her head. This kid was rather odd. At times, she seemed the typical spoiled little girl. Others though, she seemd more... intelligent. Honest, even. Something was really wrong with this girl, and she couldn't put her finger on it...

'Well, if I can't sleep in the resort, then I'm gonna sleep outside and without a sleeping bag. I always get what I want. Hehe." she giggled, staring at the older girl with a look of both defiance and joking, making it hard to tell what she truly wanted. Not that she knew herself how she should. In doubt, she wa just going to let Cici I unknowingly how she would act.

A few feet away, the pichu was having it a lot easier. He had to choice to make and no swimming to do, since the canine would take care of that. All he had to do was to climb on the pokemob and relax. He quickly did, finding a nice spot on the pokemon back to lay down.

Cici chrugged. "Suit yerself kiddo. Leats it won't be chilly t'night," She said, spreading out her towel and sitting down, pulling out a bit of some strange device and fiddling with it. "Yer welcome t' sit an' chat with me. Or y' could take the kids advice an' go swimmin'," She said, nodding to D and Volte, who were now in the water, the small Pichu clinging to the Absol's back as he paddled out into the deeper water. "You make sure you watch him, D!" Cici shouted. Dragonair gave another huff and annoyance and grumbled something under her breath. 'I'll be lucky to get ANY rest at this rate,' she thought.

The young girl looked at her pichu for a moment, making sure he looked fine. He was fine, that she knew without looking, but it would have been strange for not to give even a passing glance at the electric pokemon. She did truly interest her though was the device Cici was holding, curious about this purpose. "What's that?" she asked in an innocent tone of voice. For once, she was finally on a topic that agreed both with her role and her: childish curiosity.

Cici chuckled. Volte and D looked fine out on the lake, paddling and splashing about hapily, so a little chat with her new friend would be rather nice. "Well, this here's a power booster," She said, holding up the tiny device. "Ah been workin' on it since before a left Hoenn a few weeks ago. It's meant t' boost the power supply in a Pokeball. Give it a longer life, instead of havin' t' constantly charge it." She grinned.

In theory, that WAS why she'd started it... but it's use would also serve to extend her AI Mew's ball's lifespan. when in Hoenn, the Mew's storage ball had been damaged and she'd had to do a quick transfer from a normal ball to an Ultra Ball. It had been risky, but worked. But she wanted extra insurance. "So far, it's still a work in progress, and not really worked.. but ah'll get it eventually," She said, fiddling with the circuitry with a small screwdriver.

Miya smiled and looked closer at the device. It looked like standard equipment and a psychic look into it revealed that it was indeed a work in progress. She followed the circuitry closely with her mind, looking for any failure in the mecanism. It took her a few seconds, but she found something. Being herself, she couldn't really stop herself from mentioning it. This time however, it would really be out of character. "It's pretty, but I think it would work better if you used thermodynamic inductances instead of regular ones. It's going to absorb a part of the heat the device generates and last two or three times as long." she told her. Having seen her father work for a long time, she had an extended knowledge of electronic. Her psychic powers only made it easier to work.

Cici paused, looking up at Miya and raising an eyebrow. "...yes, yer right. How did you know that?" She asked, setting the screwdriver and device down. "You don't exactly strike me as th' techie type, sugar," She said, looking a bit confused. More and more, this girl confused Cici.

The girl smiled lightly, looking a bit nervous. She had made a small mistake there and it would be hard to explain. Fortunately, she did have that translator on her ear. This advanced piece of technology would help in her explanation. The girl picked it up slowly, showing it to Cici with a faint smile. "My dad has invented this and a lot of other things. I've watched him work a lot and I learned a lot. My daddy didn't mind telling me about that stuff, because I wanted him to tell me." she explained, taking the spoiled kid angle of view again, hoping it would be believable enough.

Cici nodded, before getting up. "Right. Um.. 'scuse me for a sec. Ah need t' check somethin' out, Miya," She said, grabbing her Pokenav, backpack and the remaining Pokeball, and turninh to the forest. "Need t' do a check on... something. Just wait there, alright?" She asked, before turning and stepping into the woods, getting out of sight and earshot of her odd new friend.

The little girl wasn't about to obey that one. Thanks to her mew powers, it had been easy for her to track down the older girl, turning invisible and floating a few inches above the ground to avoid being heard. There was no doubt in her mind that she would do something related to that mew-AI. And if and when she would... Miya would jump out of a bush as innocent as possible, point at the thing and ask what it was. If she was to ask why she followed, she would just stick to her role and claim that she deserved to know it, no matter why. Maybe that spoiled kid idea hadn't been so bad after all and had its advantages.

Cici knelt down, putting the Pokeball and back back down and lifting the PokeNav. "Okay, Miya, let's see what the net has on you," She mumbled, connecting to the local WiFi at the resort and looking up the name Tortoas. "Hmm.. CEO/co-CEO of Silph, famous inventor.." She looked through the list of inventions before scrolling down a bit more. "Married to Jen Sutter. Had one daughter, Miya Tortoas, vanished at the age of 16... four years ago?" The girl blinked. 'She doesn't look a day over 10,' She thought, scrolling down the list. Schools Miya had gone to, parents ages... Cici frowned. 'Silph posess a revolutionary computer AI? Yikes,' she thought, frowning.

The small device on Cici's backpack glimmered a moment, before something nudged at Miya in the bushes. <Mew! What are you doing?>

The young girl stayed invisible as she followed the older girl and it did her good for a while. Whereas she expected the older girl to use that time to talk with her mer AI, she came to face with something completely different. She working on something her pokenav, something Miya needed to know about, for she could feel the surprise and curiosity coming from the girl. That could spell trouble for her.

Before she levitate out of the bus and reach her destination behind Cici, she felt something strong alter the flow of graviton, close behind her. For her weakness in acting a role and manipulating the mind of others, Miya had an acute sense of her surroundings. Manipulating the flow of primal particiles such as photons and graviton to tap into their potential and achieves things like invisibility.For mew, this was the simplest of skill and required almost no energy. It was for good reason, since a mew that can't control gravity was a mew stuck to the ground and dying of a painful strangulation from the crushing of the planets gravity. However, whereas other mew her she would have worked on mastering harder skills like teleportation, mind reading and mind altering, she had focused her energy on training her vital skill, nearing the level of understanding of some of her older peers. This allowed to turn around calmly as she was touched to face the that had disturbed and send it back on its way, if required.

The sight she was greeted with was nothing like expected. The last thing she thought she would see was another mew, like the one standing in front her. She knew, however, that the mew was not the real thing, otherwise she gave felt it coming ages ago. The girl blinked in confusion, her invisibility cloak flickering for a few seconds as she wondered about the true nature of that mew creature. Since it talked straight to her she replied back psychically, although she wasn't sure if she had reached the creature and not broadcastrd her thoughts to the nearby human. It was hard to focus on something that wasn't there and her telephatic skills were kind of lacking. /Who are you, how can you see me, how do you know my true nature and why do you look so... fake?/

Mew hovered and floated, whipping about and giggling. <Mew! What do you mean? You're not human?> She asked head tilting, a purr of confusion coming from her. Granted, it looked like a Mew, but... it didn't have a real 'feel' to it at all. Merely displaced light particles and gravity. Che blinked innocently, head tilting. <You smell funny but nice Why hide here? Mistress is over there. Come and play!> She said, grabbing onto the seemingly human girls arm by the shirt, trying to tug her out of the bushes.

Cici, meanwhile was still kneeling, looking through the information over the net she'd just seen. 'None of this makes any sense. How can she be 10 if she was 16 four years ago? An' where'd she vanish too? What's this got t' do with Silph Co.?' She thought turning the info over in her head. Apparently, she'd be needing to take a trip into the city. If Silph Co. had a branch here, she'd need to know what all breakthroughs they'd made here, and just how many of her own 'unique' ideas were mainstream and available to the public.. something that upset her greatly. She needed to know just what this girl was up to and what her connection to the corporation was.

The girl shaked her head, shouting loudly in the pokemons head at first. /NO!!!/ she told the virtual mew, resisting the pulling for now. \Can't you see through my shell? Normal humans aren't invisible and don't float over the ground. Mew, however, that's a different story. I'm one of the real mew in the world, sent there to talk to you. Its a secret and your... Mistras... Can't know what am I. Can you help me keep that secret? Its going to be a mew secret.\ she told the other mew, smiling a little through her fading invisible cloak.

<You are.. Mew?> She asked, head tilting. She obviously couldn't see though the disguise, not right away. She'd never had contact with another Mew before, or even a decently powerful psychic, for that matter; Cici had always kept her from being discovered for fear of being taken away.

When Miya asked her to keep her true identity a secret, Mew frowned. Keeping secrets from her mistress? It didn't feel right. <But.. I can't lie,> She said, head tilting. <Lying is bad. I was told never to lie.> The Mew looked unhappy. <Mew.. I don't know what to dooo..> She whimpered, rubbing her head with her tail.

Cici sighed and frowned. Just who was Miya? Her story checked out, and yet it didn't. She needed to get back and ask this girl more questions... but now might not be the best time. She packed the Nav up into the backpack and sighed. She'd need to let try and get Miya's trust, otherwise, she'd wind up getting no where.

Miya smiled a little at the innocence of younger mew. She had been like that too before, idealistic and wanting to do the best. She hadn't really came out of the latter, but that was beyond the point. The mew was innocent, but she could be taught, like she was taught before. It was all a matter of explaning things clearly... And quicly, since Cici was starting to leave back to the camp. / A secret isn't a lie, its for safety. Mew secrets see especially like that. If you say who I am, it will be harder for me to help the pokemon of the world and many will not be saved because of it. It can hurt to not say the truth to someone you like, but its a good sacrifice that makes you a good mew. The best mew see the ones who put their duty and the protection of mew secrets before their own pain. I'm convinced you see a ghod mew!/ she said, ending cherfully.

Cici stood and stretched, grumbling a bit. She tapped the Mirage lamp and hmmed. It was on, but where was Mew? Usually she stampeded out and wanted to talk and chatter endlessly. "Mew? Where are you?"

Mew looked at Miya and frowned, still not sure what to do. She began fragmenting before the girl's eyes, vanishing in a trace and reappearing in front of Cici, bobbing and dipping. <Hello mistress.> She said, blinking quietly. "Ah there you are. Where were ya?" Cici asked, head tilting as she shouldered the pack.

Mew nibbled one of her paws nervously. <I... was looking around.> She said quietly, the lie already making her feel badly. She vanished once more, and turned the lamp off herself as she did, which left Cici even more confused. 'Now what was that about? Usually she's a bundle of mischief, and loaded with questions..' The girl rubbed her chin. "Well, better get back 'fore Miya gets suspicious. 's gettin' on t' dark an' ah gotta get the tent set up." Cici stooped checking to make sure she'd not forgotten anything before heading back, giving Miya ample time to leave and return.

The young girl looked at the scene between Cici and the Mew from a hiding spot, receiving their most open thoughts. She felt a pain in her stomach at seeing the mew sad and the trainer confused and worried. Cici and pokemon were such an happy family, with most members caring for each other, except maybe for Clara, the problem child. There she was, trying to break that up and bringing chaos in that peaceful equilibrium, only for the sake of having more Mew. Maybe she was making a mistake...

Sighing, Miya walked back to the camp and watched the pokemon swimming in the lake. Her focus quickly turned to her golden plated translator. She was holding it in her hands and looking down at it with sadness on her face. She had broken up her own family in order to become a mew. Her mother went depressed for a while and her father... Well he probably felt a little something, under that corporate cold shell. Oh, how much she missed her family....

Cici shrugged and slung the pack over her shoulder. She'd need to speak to Mew tonight, but for now, she had some questions for Miya. The girl made her way back to the camp, rubbing her head. 'Now just how to approach her,' she thought, grumbling a bit.

Miya was still in the same spot she had been, apparently watching the Pokemon playing in the water. D was having a fun time, trying to get the small Pichu to try swimming without clinging to his back, and Volte actually seemed to be doing well, but would hop back on shortly there after. "See, it's fun, isn't it?" D asked, splashing and paddling about.

The girl was indeed in the same position as before, with the unique difference that seemed more focused at looking sadly at the translator in her hands than at the pokemon. Not like she needed to look at them to know they were alright. Volte was climbing back up on D`s back, panting from the effort of trying to stay afloat. "Yup, its a lotsa fun! Thanks for the teaching and the fun, doggie!" he said playfully.

Cici soon returned to camp, setting her bag down and laying on the blanket on the ground. She felt worried, and a bit nervous, but wasn't about to give up just yet. She just.. needed an opening. "Well, that was interesting," She said, stretching out as she lay there, glancing over at Miya, then at the Translator in her hands. "So.. you have any other nifty lil surprises on ya?" She asked, looking over at the younger girl and chuckling a bit. "Ah mean.. it'd be nice t' kow ah wasn't comin' up with all these nifty gadgets and then finding out someone beat me to th' punch, y' know?"

D chuckled and swam back to shore, allowing the small Pichu to get off him, before shaking himself dry. "There. I haven;t been swimming in a while. fun yes?" He asked, leaning down and nosing at the Pichu.

The girl stayed silent, her eyes still on her translator. Her hands were shaking a little out of emotions she couldn't really contain anymore. She glanced at the older girl, plenty of images going through her mind. Her father she had abandoned, the rodent side in conflict, her broken mother, the images of her childhood, back when she was 12 and life was easy and simple. No mission, no daily struggle to control her powers. Actually, yes, there was some struggles to contain her powers back then too, but it was on a different scale. Now... everything was more difficult. "No... no there, is no other surprise..."

Her voice was low and crackling with sadness. In that state of mind, her control over her powers was lessened. She wasn't down to the point where her human form was fading, but her psychic energy shield was weakened. Even someone like Cici, not gifted in any psychic way, would feel an almost inhuman vibe coming from the girl, as if the very air around her crippled with power only asking to be released.

The effect was more pronounced on pokemon, who were more attuned to the energy of the legend. Volte immediately stopped what he was doing to stare at Miya worriedly, his heart filling with sorrow, a reflection of the mew's heart. D would also feel the same, as would every pokemon in a 100 feet radius of the little girl.
