The Testing(Now awaiting a challanger)
It was with a cold calculating gaze that the beast not of this reality stood in the air far over head and out of sight looked down at the world below him, those silver eyes completely void of any sort of positive emotions. His eyes had the cold heartless appearance of a predatory fiend on a mission, the eyes of one who had been trained for the kill. Yet with that cold that filled his eyes there was another light there, a glorious rainbow of dancing colors that seemed to be playing and dancing behind the natural silver of his eyes. Those who looked into those eyes and saw that rainbow would certainly say it was beautiful assuming that they were allowed to live, for those dancing colors were what essentially hypnotized those who made the mistake of looking him in the eyes.
He’d been drifting about on this world for awhile now and seen some fairly strange creatures, some of which seemed like they could hold some potential in their futures if they survived long enough to reach it. It was fairly hard to sort those with power out from the herd of common trash just based on sight and senses so he had come to the conclusion that he needed a better method of finding out which of these were worth his time, he was still working on figuring out a better method to find those suitable to be his tools.
The dragon let out a frustrated snarl as he thought of that situation which was driving him to the point of having to use other creatures for his pawns, he was one that would prefer to deal with things himself. Even as strong as he was when he truly brought his fury into the equation he knew full well that their total powers could overwhelm even him. He knew he didn’t really have a choice on his methods if he wished to win this fight against the god he formerly served; he’d need strong able bodies to be at his call if he were to be able to take his revenge.
As he floated there in the sky he thought to himself about what those who he drew to him would need to be like in order for them to serve his purpose, only the strongest and the bravest could manage even for a second against the horde he faced. Even if he did manage to get the best this world could offer him he didn’t know if that would be enough for their bodies would have to be able to stand up to the horrid powers of destruction’s finest killers. He knew full well just how deadly some of those agents could be, after all he had been one of the best before that treacherous god had sealed him for that long year…
”I shall call them too me, and when they arrive I shall test their minds and bodies… See if I can find any worthy of serving me…” The dragon said softly as he slowly lowered to the ground to land in the midst of a great forest with hardly a sound, tails tapping the ground behind him lightly as he examined the area around him with each of his senses. He felt nothing in the immediate are of any value, so he decided that this was where he would set up his testing grounds.
”The price of power is blood and life…” He hissed as he spread his hand open wide and slammed his open palm against the ground, a cold smile forming for a moment on his long muzzle. Within a second of that contact with the ground silver tendrils of some metallic substance erupted from under the scales of his arm to dig into the ground, the ridges forming in the ground said that they were spreading out in all directions at an alarming rate.
”There’s plenty of that here..” As he spoke silver tendrils could be seen coming up from the ground to latch onto near by trees, judging on how the trees rapidly started to wither and die after those tendrils latched onto them they were drinking away all the substance of the tree. Soon enough the trees and plants near him were dead and those tendrils were seeking out further still, taking and absorbing the life of the plants and any creature unfortunate enough to be in the area at this point.
Within a few hours those silver tendrils had spread through an area of one hundred yards, they had left nothing alive in that area save the dragon from which they came. What once had been the center of that forest was not a lifeless wasteland, but that would change soon enough if the dragon had anything to say about it. He needed his lure and bait to bring in those who would stand to his test, and he certainly wasn’t going to stand call them for however long it took for them to reach him.
“From the death of others comes life anew.” The dragon purred as he the tendrils broke off from his arm and he took a step back to watch as his plan steadily unfolded. At the point where his palm had been there was a small circle of blue light which, now that his hand was gone, was steadily expanding till it covered a fifteen foot area. The meaning of the dragon’s words became clear as from the center of that circle a silver tree grew up at an incredible rate, going from a sprout to a fully grown tree in a matter of minutes.
”Now then Atama, call them in… I shall get myself ready.” The dragon spoke to the tree as if it would understand it, then slowly sat down with his back against it and let the scaled lids of his eyes come down to hide those silver eyes. As that dragon sat there a psychic pulse would spread throughout the lands, a call to those who were brave of heart and strong of body. It was his challenge for them to prove themselves against him and it gave directions on how to find him… All they had to do was follow the path the silver petals which were soon drifting across the land came from, they would find him waiting there.
