Pokemon Vore Game (Demo Version 1.5 Released) (Another help request XP)

Post by foxyumbreon on Tue Jun 16, 2009 6:18 am

*Link relating to the poll*
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2725862/

I'm presently working on a pokemon vore game, and so I thought I would mention it here since this is a pokemon vore site. Only reason I didn't do so sooner is because I just learned of this site recently, and just created my account. Here's some links to my FA account with screenshots and a help request for the game.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2387116/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2399399/
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/785063/
I hope some people take interest in the game.
And to whomever reads this, thank you for your time. I will try to remember to update this thread from time to time with information regarding the game.

*Demo* Sorry for the slow progress with the game. I haven't been finding the time I would like to be able to work on it. Anyway, here's a new version of the demo. It goes up to the same point as before, but is in a more complete form. Here's a list of the things that have been added/changed from the original demo.

Fixed some typos.
Modified some dialogue.
Shortened length of animation when Mew heals you.
Added a save point before the boss.
Added a temporary title screen.
Added an oven image.
Added Game Over screen.
Added Umbreon eating Arcanine animation.
Modified vore scenes.
Modified some of the floors.
Changed Arcanine's movement pattern from 'Random' to 'Toward Player'.
Reduced number of ovens, and gave each one its own unique description.

Oh, and as a notice for those of you who might be reading this, but won't be wanting to re-read the dialogue in the demo (especially since it's not changed very much), you can use the Z key when searching and interacting with objects, as well as going through dialogue, instead of the Enter key if you would prefer.
Here's the link.

Thanks for your time, and thanks to everybody for their support so far.

*Voting Results Final* Well, it's finally been decided. Sorry for the wait, but I've been very busy and haven't been finding much time to dedicate to the game recently. And then on top of that, there were some issues encountered relating to the winners, but I won't bore you with the details. So, without further ado, here are the 4 pokemon that the player shall be using in the game!

1: Umbreon
2: Lucario
3: Dragonair
4: Charizard

Well, there you have it. Feel free to comment if you would like, but keep in mind when you do that these decisions are final, especially since work is presently starting to be underway regarding the use of these characters.

I've decided upon the playable pokemon, but I thought I would give the potential players a chance to cast their vote. The pokemon I have planned that the player will use throughout the game are umbreon, pikachu, ponyta, and lucario. Umbreon stays because it's my favorite, but I'm wondering about what everybody thinks about the other choices. The choices are not set in stone, so if you have any objection to one or more of those pokemon, then say so, and offer replacement possibilities for the ones you don't agree with.

Ponyta? Dwa? I'm surprised you didn't go with Charmeleon or Charizard, what with they're popularity and everything. Or Zangoose for that matter since it is also very popular... Also I wouldn't be me without requesting Octillery being playable, despite the fact I'm probably the only one who wants one of those. But hey, if you do it I promiss to not vigorusly tentacle you then eat you... or I will do that, depending on the sort of thing you're into. Damn it's hard to threaten/bribe perverts...

On a side note will you be able to vore in this game or just get vored? Also what sort of vores are going to be in this?

The only times you'll be the pred (at least with how I presenlty have it planned) is when you defeat a boss (there will be a reason in the story for this). You will also be eaten by any boss that defeats you, but I also plan on having a few enemies and traps during the stages that instantly kill you by means of vore. All the vore is going to be soft oral.
And like the post says, none of the decisions other than umbreon are for certain at this time. I was actually thinking a while after posting this update that I might hold a pole or something for people to vote, using suggestions I received as the choices. So far ponyta doesn't seem very popular.

Hmm....... Lucario might be interesting, but having Mewtwo as a playable character would be good, to me anyways. Hehe.

My kink list I'm a very kinky herm Mewtwo who loves being pregnant, and getting pregnant with even more kids to make Mewtwo hybrids. XP Come make some hybrids with me.

Mewtwo would be neat, but I'm not totally sure (at least at this point) about using legendary pokemon, especially one as powerful as mewtwo. I'm certainly not going to rule it out 100% at this point though.

Heh. Just me being me about that, what with Mewtwo being my favorite. Would be neat if it was added though. Scyther might be fun as well to add.

I hear ya. Mewtwo isn't my absolute favorite pokemon, but it is my favorite psychic-type. The main problem though is that it probably wouldn't work very well with the storyline because it's so powerful.

Yeah...I think Mewtwo would break the storyline if added here. (I would like to think that's the whole reason for the crap with Brawl as well.)

I wonder how many people will play as certain characters and intentionally lose a lot. :p

you could use a file sharing site, like mediafire.com or box.net, then post the link here and on your FA account...as for the characters, I'd go with bayleef but she's not one of the popular pokés...

Thanks. I'll try that. I just got a reply at my Eka's thread suggesting mediafire.com as well.

Heh. If I had a nickel for every time I did that in other small vore games I've made. None of those games exist anymore though. They were all made before I knew about others being into vore, so I would just delete them after having my fun with them.

And yeah, that would make some sense for taking Mewtwo out of Brawl, especially since the game had a story mode. Mewtwo would have probably just completely pwnd Tabuu.

Okay, first off this is an amazing game. Two thumbs way up. I do have a few complaints though. First off the third stage with the buttons seemed a bit arbitrary. Once you got past the one hitmon and the one ariodos there was nothing stopping you from pressing all four buttons, making me wonder if it was just to lengthn the level, or if it was an astetic choice. Second little critique is the final boss didn't seem to be in a big hurry to attack me. For most of the battle he ran circles in the corner while I ran about pressing all the buttons on the rest of the screen. Final note there should be a way to fast forward through the chatter, if at all possible. I intentionaly lost to the hitmons and the final boss to see what would happen, and both times I had to sit through Mew's dribble. Minor nitpicks aside it is still a great game and I think you're doing a great job.
As an aside I have to know: Is there an artist tied to this project? To do game over screens, special sights, etc etc? I'd love to know if there will be different game over screens depending on how you loose. Like, for example, if you stay in the oven will you see you character roasted on a silver platter, or broiling in an over? Or say if a boss eats you will you see the char struggling in the stomach? Also is there any chance we'll get a little image to go along with what we find in the ovens, like you inspect, get the little blub, and a neet still like what they did with early 90s hentai games? The main reason I ask this is because that first room was probably one of the most arousing things I've seen in my life, espcially the Vulpix and Growlith (yes eys, I'm a sick and twisted bastard, this is nothing new.) But I'm not lying when I say that bit got me going faster than anything I've seen before, and I'm a conosure of smut. So cudos to you there, even if that wasn't your intention.

Thanks for the suggestion. And that's an odd issue. I have no idea why that's happening. You could always try downloading the game again and see if it works. Sorry if I'm not much help, but I really don't know why it would do that. I just suggest trying to download the game because somebody else had a problem running the game, and redownloading it worked. He had a completely different problem though. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you very much for the input. About that third stage, that was done to pretty much be useless more than anything. I was thinking about adding more there, but decided against it (can't remember why). And as for the boss, I have him set to move about randomly. I had to go through that battle so many times to make sure the events afterwards worked properly, and I noticed that sometimes the random movement makes the battle a complete waste of time, and at other times it makes it a pain in the ass. And I might put in a way to skip through the dialogue, but not sure. I hadn't considered that before, which is sad because I'm always complaining about games not having that sort of an option. Don't worry though, all that dialogue is really only near the beginning. Once you get past the first few stages, the amount of dialogue drops drastically until a couple choice parts in the game.

And yes, I do presently have an artist working with me on the project. He's going to be doing the game over screens and the title screen. At present, I have planned to have four game over screens, one for each character. I didn't think about having images for the pokemon in the oven though, but I did consider showing that pokemon's faceshot on the dialogue box as you search the oven, just in case the player doesn't know what that pokemon looks like. And yes, you nailed the purpose of the oven room right in the head. I might ask my artist to draw the pokemon in the oven, but that might be a bit too much. I'll try to remember to bring it up, but in the end it comes down to his willingness to do so, and him having the time to do so.

I see. If this artst managed to pull it off that would be epic, but considering there is somewhere like... 30-40 ovens that doesn't seem likely. Even with just the special text ones it's over a dozen. Hmm, I would say adding another artist would increase what you could do with things but if the art styles are too different it would probably be jarring. Another pipe dream would be replacing the red in the opening with you char in the oven, {once s/he realizes what's going on.} maybe .gif it up with sweat and heat waves, and giving up would make the char's eyes close... Yah that's not going to happen. Ah, but it's fun to dream.

Anyway there was another little nit I remembered about the demo. When Mew heals you that little sparkly thing shows, and then repeats itself a few times. There's now way to skip it and even on the first go it felt redundant. Players get the idea Mew heals you after the first sparkle set, so those three others after you speak seem to just pad the cutscene for time. You might want to consider cutting down on that bit or just cutting it out, to help steamline things.

I figured out what the problem was. Nothing is wrong with the game file, it was just my own stupidity. The game is AWESOME!!! Very Happy

Magetorment wrote: I see.

I asked the artist, but haven't gotten an answer yet. He said that those would probably be lower quality stuff than the game over screens and the title screen though most likely. And the consistancy in art style is why I chose to only go with one artist. The .gif thing would be fun, but RPG Maker VX doesn't seem to support .gif files.

I'm not sure if I'll do anything about the animation length of Mew healing Umbreon.

A thought just hit me as I was playing through it again. If the art is a no go then what about sprite edits? The seem to be easier to pump out than full on pics, and since all the sprites are poke sprites more than one editor could be pulled into the project. Just a thought, and regardless of what you do with it in game the idea of the Vulpix struck me so much I'll probably end up commissioning some one to draw it anyway. Though I do have a question: Are there any plans to make Vulpix/Ninetales playable, or have Ninetales be a boss?

its great! what mage pointed out were pretty much the only big flaws the game has. I just can't seem to stop giggling every time I read the word "vore"... X3

just curious..does every character you choose start in a different location with a different guardian and a different way of playing? cause that would add depth and replay value to the game.

Yes. Every character is guided by a different guardian, and each one has their own type of stage that they play through. The flow of the game will involve you rotating between using each pokemon and playing through their stages. So you first finish a tower with umbreon, then you do a tower with the 2nd pokemon, then the 3rd, then the 4th, then back to umbreon, and so forth. And the style of play used in the tower is determined by the pokemon you're using to get through the tower.

I really enjoyed your game. The Ariados spider web was a little frustrating, but once I figured it out, I wanted to hit myself at missing the obvious... Only complaint I would have is the switch in the oven room. Some kind of visual hint as to the switch's location would be appreciated. And the descriptions for the dead Pokemon. "It's already dead" is a little "Bleh". Maybe something a little witty for each of them? For instance, the dead Oddish, you could say something along the lines of "Vegetable stew anyone?" I dunno, just a couple of thoughts. Keep up the great work, I enjoyed the demo!

Thanks for your input. Regarding the switch, I don't know why, but I always tend to put something like that at the begining of my games. There won't be anything else like that in the game, so don't worry. And as for the descriptions of the ovens, I just don't think I could have come up with that many different scenes, and I wanted the room to be nice and full. I might reduce the number of ovens though, and give each one a unique little quote.

Haven't played it yet (will eventually, and will vote when I do) but I was wondering one thing: umbreon will still be guaranteed to be in the game, right? Cause I noticed that it's not in the voting list...

As you can probably tell, I'm also an umbreon fanatic, and any game with both umbreon and vore = insta-fave for me :3

That is correct. Umbreon is an automatic in the game. In fact, I would simply refuse to make the game without umbreon. Umbreon isn't just my favorite pokemon, it's my favorite fictional animal.
I hope you enjoy the game, and I hope to get your vote soon.

I am so sorry. I just realized that I had completely left out one of the intended options for people to vote for. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. I'm adding the new choice to the list, and am asking everybody who has voted if you would like to add the pokemon onto your list to replace one of the votes you had already made. Again, I'm very sorry about this. The pokemon that was left out, and has now been added, is Floatzel.

This is just in my opinion...but I think it might be nice if there was a save right before each boss, I've just noticed that most games have saves before boss', anyway other then that I say good job exsept for maybe the swich at the begining, as I spent oh maybe fifteen muinets trying every floor spave and wall...heh, just my opinion on what would make it more playable, not that it isn't playable now...anyway what ever you diside is fine it's your game after all, and I think you've done a rather good job so far...oh and I guess I'll have to vote for charizard, as he's my second most liked pokemon...

There will be more focus on things other than just the buttons later on. And as far as music goes, I'm just using the music that comes with the RPG Maker.
Magetorment wrote:I agree with Karlas. Less buttons and a more agressive enemy would make more sense. At least that's my two cents.

I'm not 100% certain at this point about there being less buttons during later boss fights at present, but the bosses will indeed be much more agressive.

I am definately working through ideas for ninetales to be in the game, probably as a boss so it can have a vore scene. Ninetales is one of the most prime examples that pokemon was made for vore.

There will be saves before the boss fights, as some people have given good reason for me to add that, and I plan on inserting something into the beginning to make finding that switch a little less annoying. It will probably still remain invisible since it is supposed to be a hidden switch, but I'll probably have Mew offer a hint to its location or something. I'm sorry it took you so long to find it, but you're not alone there. Also, as a random side note, reading you state that you went around searching every floor space reminds me of trying to find Raiden in Final Fantasy 6. And as a final note, please follow the rules for voting and send me a note, otherwise your vote might not be counted.

Thanks everybody for your input.

Voting is now coming to an end. I will post the results in a little while. The only reason why I don't post them now is to give people a chance who are in the middle of sending in a vote to finish doing so. It wouldn't really be fair to have their vote not count because they were just a few seconds too late.

this is just a thought. What if you made it to where after you beat the game
it unlocks an extra to where you can watch all the vore clips. Just an idea

I like this mon's thinking. If possible do that.
Alternativly if the game doesn't allow for galleries you could have a gheto version of a gallery by making a room with a bunch of doors, each door leading to a vore scene. Oooh, you could probably do a boss rush mode that way too.

I'm already a step ahead of you, but thanks for the suggestion. I've had plans for doing that for quite a while, and I also plan on giving an option that will allow you to watch the vore clips in various sizes from the extras.

Now there's a couple ideas I didn't think of, especially that idea with a room. I could actually easily do something like that, and might just do so. I could easily make a room that you can go to after clearing the game, and then save so you don't have to do the final fight over again to get there. I was already going to do that and then give a menu to watch the vore clips, but using a room and adding more features to it than just the vore clips might be a good way to go. Thanks for the suggestions.

Okay, just finished the new demo. It was good, a definate improvement over the last. You did a lot of things I'm really happy to see. The shortened healing time really makes that opening cutscene flow a lot better. The agressive boss gives a better sense that he's out to get you rather than just wandering around. Slowing down the vore animations was a huge bonus as well, made it look a lot better. Also putting more on that second to last floor really made it seem like there was a challange in our buttons, rather than arbitration.

On the down side the bolders are a little unintuative and their initial placement is rather unforgiving. You might want to consider putting a few bolders on the first floor, where players can figure them out without getting pummled by Hitmonchan. The only other complaint I have is the new oven text. It just feels too goofy. I know it may seem odd that I'm complaining about comedy but it seems really out of place in that scene. The first one worked really well, even if it was repedative. It gave a sense of the horrors that the badies were committing and were generally neutral in descripition. Now half of them are silly and it just gives the impression that the Umbreon is laughing at them, which seems rather out of character considering the rest of his lines. If you're having trouble coming up with lines for the ovens there are a good number of writers on the site, myself included, who I'm sure would be happy to help.

Those two minor gribes aside the game was great and I still can't wait to see the end result.

Yeah, I agree that some of the oven quotes were bad, some of them even embarrassing for me to write down. I just thought it would be nice to have a bit more variety instead of them all saying the same thing. Some of them I will likely change, but I really wanted to at least get established that I would want to be having them all be different, and I really wanted to get this next demo finished so I could continue on with the game. Therefore, I kind of rushed that part just to get the demo released. And the boulders were added mainly to give a bit more of a feel for other things you might run into during the puzzle stages, while still trying to keep things relatively simple for the time. I have plans for much more complex scenarios in the later stages.
