Here's a full list of the titles you can get on this forum, as well as the post count number you can reach each one...

0 posts: Rattata's Munchie
15 posts: Skitty's Morsel
50 posts: Raichu's Snack
125 posts: Mawile's Side Order
225 posts: Lucario's Appetizer
450 posts: Umbreon's Dessert
900 posts: Arcanine's Entrée
1250 posts: Charizard's Main Course
1750 posts: Snorlax's Buffet
2200 posts: Lugia's Grand Feast
2500 posts: Custom Title! =D

More or less, your title is a rating of how good a food value you are. ;3

Also note! Upon reaching your 2500th post, you can PM me for a custom title! =P Good luck to earning that!

Bleh..anyway we can have a title that doesn't refer to us as food? I'm 100% pred when it comes to Pokemon, so it bothers me to be called Pokefood under my name in every post.

Some predator titles sound good. =)

Only problem is, it can iether be one or another, there is no way to give specific users, specific post-based ranks.

Its all one big list:

at this post count : give this title
at this other postcount : give this new title
etc

So iether, we would end up having an array of pred-usertitles, or prey-usertitles.

I'd say it'd just be easier to offer everyone custom titles automatically, and the ones that don't choose one keep the current post titles.

I really want to keep the custom titles for users who earn it. 3000 posts gets you a custom title -- it's a large but not impossible number. I don't want to hand out custom titles freely, also, because it actually would take a LOT of time to go through all the menus necessary to give everybody a custom title. In addition to the fact that my Inbox would be loaded with everybody saying what they want as far as their custom title... And even further, I'm sure there's a lot of people who would want their titles changed more than once. Sorry, but...I really can't handle that. So no 'free' custom titles, sorry.

Some predator titles sound good. =)

As for the option of pred/prey titles...as Blue said, that's not possible. Trust me, if I had the ability to let the users choose themselves between and preddish and preyish title for each postcount level, I would. That would actually be really cool! ...But we can't do it. =p

About making the titles non-pred...well, then what about prey-only people? (They're out there.) I think they would then have a problem instead. So no to that...

The last idea, in conclusion...is making the titles completely un-vorish. But, really, what would be the fun in that? The point of these titles were to be something different than other forum titles...in other words, vorish.

But really it boils down to this.

They're just titles, guys. Everybody has them. And they're more or less just a way to gauge your progress, like with other forums. Please, don't take them too seriously...just because it says you're a "Rattata's Munchie" doesn't mean you actually are a Rattata's Munchie. X3 So, pred-only people, I'm sorry, but the titles are staying how they are. If there's someone who really has a problem with that, well...sorry. Really, I am sorry that we can't be a perfect forum or whatever. Try to have a little humor about it.

EDIT: If you really, truly hate the postcount titles, I will blank yours out for you. Just PM me about that.

You can always find out. :3 Go to the Member List, select 'Sort by Total Posts', and hit ok. You can find out who has what postcount, in order from highest to lowest or lowest to highest.

Here's an idea. Would it be difficult to actually give people the option to put in their OWN custom titles? <.< You could make it an option somewhere with two choices. If they don't want to make a custom title and just want one of the random ones, they select the bullet for that, and if they want to make a custom one, they select the "custom title" bullet, and fill in the space that shows up with a short phrase to their liking.

Just my two pennies thrown on the pile.

Sadly not possible since we dont have access to the actual files of the forum, and thus cannot do such mods.

Sounds like to me you guys picked a really lousy forum system if you can't do that.

I don't appreciate that comment, Fatal. If you want to complain about how we have the post count titles set up, at least do it privately, by PM.

The system we currently have does allow for a lot of functions and is rather open considering we don't have actual access to the core files. And also, I only had to sit through some spam offers to 'earn' this website...it's otherwise free, and most of the time, you don't get something this good for free.

I do intend to put up a Donate button on the top bar at some point...there are a few more abilities this forum engine has, but I'll have to pay for these, and I'm a bit broke. I'm currently studying up on what I would gain/what it would cost...I'm not sure if it would allow for a better post count title system, though.

Would I like a custom title? Sure, why not? Am I going to cry about not having one or one that reflects my personality or interests? Fuck no. It's a tiny plot of letters and spaces that most people aren't even going to notice in comparison to your avatar --- which SHOULD BE ENOUGH.

No one who's opinion is worth hearing on this matter would be so caught up in a little blip of text. Take my example for AGNPH for example. The place has your post count measured in "cocks sucked" or at least that was the case the last time I was there. I am not the kind of person who would measure importance by the amount of phalluses one stuck in one's mouth, and that isn't my thing in the first place --- I like chicks. I can make small exceptions for rp's since that ignores the posters under the aegis of internet anonymity and instead relies on the characters involved, but I personally like girls. So would I be satisfied with a post count that says "cocks sucked"? No.

Is it worth whining about? No. Because it's superfluous. Anyone with only half of their meninges to think with isn't going to assume that I like sucking cock because of an asinine forum function like that.

So no one with the intelligence of a toaster run through a microwave should assume that a person is all prey because of their user title.

I agree with Fatal completely. The reason I'd like to be able to customize it is because I would like to be able to put something random and silly there, that's all. Yes, a little of it is the fact that I dislike being prey to pokémon (save Charem, of course), but I can easily be an ass and say something like "I am not pokémon food!" in my signature.

And, yeah. =P That's cool. I like your idea for a title, Draggy. It's just that I want people to earn the custom titles. For reasons I already said above. (Did I mention the requirements were actually lessened recently? They were.) The exception is if someone becomes a moderator, as I'll give a custom title for that too.

If you want a title, then you have to try for it. :3 Simple as that.

Good, then earn it by posting and helping the forum grow.

Have something you want to say, which you planned on using the custom title to express?
Use the signature function, its there for a reason.

Everything else is nice, but generally people can tell what kind of person you are from your posts, while every other thing from signatures to custom titles to avatars can either be misleading or very vague.

A forum is a place to be yourself, yes, but not your mean side. We don't want to see that, sorry. If you were really 'holding back', then you shouldn't have posted your message in the first place.

Ok...look, I'm not trying to restrict what you say. But remember rule #2, #5, and #1?

"Respect the opinions and feelings of the other users." - Even if you don't think they deserve respect. And what you said was disrespectful to those who hate the post count titles. Am I asking you to agree with them? No. I think it's pretty clear I don't really agree either. But I still respect the opinions they make.

"Keep cussing to a minimum. ...especially if it could anger other users." - My point is already said in that rule.

Respect the admin/moderators! - I can tell you're not giving me this. Plain and simple: Start trying to. I'm actually not a complete tyrant, and if you message me kindly it works out a whole lot better. Opening with "I personally think that I shouldn't have to." may be brutally honest, but it's also dripping with disrespect.

The basic point is, people easily could (and easily did) get mad from what you said. And that's exactly what I want to avoid most on this forum.

If in doubt you can do one of four things:
1.) Ignore it. If you do there's big chance others will as well.
2.) Put up with it. They're not that insulting even for a fully-fledged 100% pred.
3.) Treat them as meaningless words which change magically when your post count go up.
and 4.) Change your character, perhaps to the preferred prey of your first choice, or a new character altogether.

If you want to have something unique to you appear when you post, use a sig (isn't that what they're for?).
